577: 'vibe coding', antimemetics, and more trash art

I have left Feytopia, mostly because the warmest month of April is always booked out by alumni from past years. Rest assured that will be me next year. :) Now I’m in London for the week, and enjoying all the silly sounding accents.
Another modern Euro co op in an ancient building I heard of is Vidalia.
The director Lucy Walker came by the chateau to film her next thing, and we watched her 2010 smash hit documentary Waste Land, about recycling trash pickers in Rio’s largest landfill and the stunning trash art made about them.
Lots to ‘unpick’ here as the job itself wouldn’t exist if Brazil had recycling infrastructure, the landfill was since full and closed and now there’s laws around sealing trash into holes rather than open air, and from what I’ve reported here before, recycling anything other than aluminum and glass is mostly a scam.
Technology
Myk is an old buddy of mine who is writing prolifically about product, growth, and startup gospel - I need to get on his level of personal brand!
Lovable is one of the new ‘vibe coding’ offerings that use AI prompts to output entire apps and codebases. Great if it works - must be hard to debug though!
Ideologies
I mentioned Exitutional Dynamics two weeks ago in a simple Medium blog post, but here is the full academic paper on the topic. Can’t say I get it yet - need to dive deeper!
Antimemetics (ideas that tend against being thought about) is in the zeitgeist due to online discourse retreating to groupthreads and famed open source author Nadia Aspaurova is writing her next book on them.
Maybe the best way to build community in your neighborhood is merely to drink your coffee on your stoop, and say hello to your neighbors.
Memes
Red the Ocean Around U is a trippy desktop generative art experience made by some Feytopians that functions as a nice meditative screen reset.
I am somehow only now discovering Amapiano, an EDM afrobeat genre that is popular amongst the diaspora and absolutely hypnotizing. Davido and Busta 929 are my faves so far - with many millions of views and top tier music videos to boot!
