#436 - Multiverse magnificence, DAOs for noobs, and the original Shrek
y'all go see the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once right now!
I PROMISE you won't regret it if you're into cinematography, costuming, multiverses, genre bending, intergenerational immigrant dynamics, choreography, surrealism, nihilism, or just plain silliness. The only viewers who wouldn't enjoy it are those who can't handle postmodern art, I daresay.
It was the first movie I've seen in theaters in at least five years and it delivered on every level. (96% on rotten tomatoes!) Watch the trailer if you must, it's not too spoilerey, but the less you know about this film going in, the better.
Also it gave all of us enough Halloween costume ideas for the next decade :P
Tech
Two sided marketplace for $100 a year each side gets you free housing, or petsitters, all year. I wonder how big of a thing this actually is....do people not have friends and neighbors to come feed the dog?
Grammarly is a webapp that corrects your English grammar, invaluable for non native speakers. This app goes a step further and corrects Spanish specifically into English, so that technical Spanish specialists can work in English without less confusion.

Lifehacks
DAOs are decentralized corporations and one of the parts of web3 I have understood the least, but this writeup did a halfway decent job of laying out to me what they are and how it works, with links to go deeper.
"A semicolon is where the author could have ended the sentence but chose not to. You are the author and the sentence is your life." Apparently this is a common tattoo for suicide survivors - powerful!
Fun
Shrek was originally written for Chris Farley, and he recorded 85% of the lines before he died. Check out some of his readings here - quite a different character than Mike Myers' resulting one!
